The northernmost cichlid on the Pacific slope, the Green Guapote is another predator and is best known as a featured attraction at the Sonora Desert Museum. It's protection of it's fry rivals C. festae and N. nematopus. Males will simply not tolerate others in the same tank. This applies in tanks as large as 600 gallons!
